The famous blue engine stalled and stopped before falling off the bridge. One by one, as if by slow motion, the train cars followed, spilling their contents. Disconnected, they lay on the floor in a heap.
A hand picked up one car and put it back on the tracks. “Choo, choo!” giggled my 2-year old.

Life’s Funny Ironies v.1

I was enjoying a latte at a cafe when I noticed a woman stand up, with coffee on one hand and a cigarette on the other.
I snorted in surprise, with my drink almost coming out through my nose, as I watched her walk away.
The back of her shirt reads, “Respiratory Therapy.”

She fixed her gaze on the strange creature. Of all the smells she knew this wasn’t one. The hair on her nape stood on end.
Muscles taught, she waited for the thing to attack. She would be brave; she would defend her territory.
Suddenly, the squirrel darted over the fence disappearing into the woods.
