Wolf was sure he had washed his hands before making the casserole. “I’m sorry folks,” he said to the violently heaving and convulsing group of animals. “It looks as though you’re all going to die.”
He looked at his hands as he deftly pivoted to miss a squirrel falling from a branch above.
“Guess not.”
