She’s seen thousands of plus signs.
It was introduced to her during her first grade in school.
A plus sign is used when adding two numbers.
One plus one equals two.
But today, a plus sign means a wonderful blessing.
In nine months, she’ll be a mother.

Darth Vader looked harmless. Even with his light saber, he didn’t look threatening.
Superman looked lost. Not exactly sure what to do.
Mermaid looked uncomfortable. Her fins were bothering her.
Bumblebee was bigger than the average bee. Looked cute nonetheless.
Superman was back. He looked different. With glasses this time.
Halloween was fun for everyone!!

Bill went quietly into his daughter’s room, making sure she was asleep like the rest of the family. He tiptoed out just as quickly, his prize tucked under his tattooed arm.
“What if they find out?” he wondered, frozen momentarily by the thought.
He stopped worrying as he lost himself in the Nancy Drew mystery.

“What’s the point of bar-hopping anyway?” she asked the cold night.
Ahead, one car swerved on an ice patch, causing a traffic jam. The driver on her right got out to investigate and slipped on more ice. Rhonna sighed and went over to help. Their eyes met.
Maybe going out wasn’t useless after all.

Sirens sounded at the museum. The diamonds have been stolen! Police were seeking a blue van.
Rookie patrolman Joe Mango stopped a slow-moving van at his roadblock. He opened the back and was met with a heavenly buttercream scent.
He okayed the driver, who looked innocent enough. Besides, who would mess with someone’s wedding cake?

One by one, they came, slowly and stiffly. Different species in different colors were united in a common purpose. They formed a circle around the food.
Joe tried to move them, six dinosaurs gathered around a slice of bread. But their master would have none of it.
“No, daddy. They’re eating,” said their 2-year-old owner.

“You’re two hours late!!!”
“I know. I’m sorry. I was baking…”
“You made me wait because you were baking?!?”
“It was my first time…I brought you some to try…”
A withering look. “Maybe you should just go home.”
Later, she had a bite of the muffin he left behind. And found one sparkly ring inside.

Sweat dripped down his forehead. He checked the oil before trying to start the old machine yet again.
He should have been finished with several jobs already. But luck has frowned on him.
One. More. Try.
The engine roared to life. He straightened up, smiled meekly at the homeowner and proceeded to mow the lawn.

He cried at the top of his lungs, squirming and wriggling in the woman’s arms. She did what she could to ease his pain.
As suddenly as they started, the screams stopped. His eyes unfocused, staring at nothing in particular. She waited in silence.
He let out a giant burp, and grinned toothlessly, finally relieved.
