Traffic Jam

Three quick calls
Makeup check
Note the latest fashion around
Mentally summarize afternoon’s presentation

“Hmmm, not bad”, thought Janet, “managed to do so much before the green signal. Who said traffic jams are a waste of time?”

Inspite of having everything…

He worked all his life to attain his dreams. He didn’t have time for vacations, parties and all those things that didn’t directly help him in achieving his goals.
Today he has everything that he ever wanted to have.
Ironically, he was not happy. He was filled with a feeling of emptiness.

Philosophically speaking…

I was explaining philosophy to my friend.
“The sum total of all life in this world is constant, so an increase in the number of human beings would have definitely resulted in the decrease in the number of one or more species (animals)”
“Hmmm”, said he, “that explains your existence”

The effects of war…

It all started with an innocent comment by Mr.Potato, who claimed he is the world’s most popular vegetable. Unknown to Joe, his kitchen became a free-for-all warzone, each one trying to better the others.
Ultimately, the war resulted in Joe’s constipation.

Overwork

He told me to ask for help, anytime. So when I was stuck, I asked God to help me write good stories. He gave me lots of ideas but later I found to my horror, that He had given the same ideas to other people too.
“Sorry son”, He said, “I’m overworked, :(”.

I look at my prison like cubicle, sigh and get back to work.

We were young and loved each other deeply, but somehow couldn’t make a good couple.
We met again, few years later at the church - she was the bride and I was there to conduct the wedding, as the Minister.

My next book

Being an established author, I receive large number of works for review, from aspiring authors.
Today, I found a gem. I called him and said, “Brilliant. Could you send me more of your work?”
As we finished talking, we were both happy - he, because of my appreciation and I, because I “found” my next […]

I can’t show you my best story

Today, I wrote the best short story of my life. It’s brilliant and I’m very proud of it.
I can’t post it here for you though.
I tried my best, but couldn’t contain it in 55 words.
What a tragedy :(

Because of this blog….

“Brilliant”
“Excellent choice of words”
“You’ve captured the essence beautifully, in just a few words”
These are some of the remarks I received when I rewrote my company’s bulky mission statement in just thirty words.
I didn’t tell them I write for this blog.
