Death of a blog

The blog network’s bosses were upset, very upset.
“50% decrease in traffic and number of posts, What’s happening guys?”
“55 fiction blog; our bloggers spend most of their time reading/commenting there, or writing for it”
“Unacceptable, shut it down.”

Cyberwar

All out war in the cyberworld, each one proclaiming his importance.
Database: “Without me, where’ll you store the data?”
Email: “I’m the primary tool that connects people”
Office: “I’m the most important, responsible for all corporate communication”
The war intensified. All of them looked […]

Insecurity

He went through ten gruelling rounds of interview for the No 2 position, second only to mine, in the department.
He impressed every interviewer.
“He isn’t a team player, reject him”
“But sir, he is the best we’ve ever interviewed”, my team argued.
“No, reject him”, I said firmly.
They couldn’t understand my insecurity.

What can Miss Worry do?

Miss Worry worried about everything - bills, children, cats - everything. She was always worried.
One day we made a list of her worries and I helped her deal with each one.
Few days later, she was sad again. She told me “Oh dear!! I’m worried because these days there is nothing to worry about”.

Individuality

For hours, I wasn’t able to write, inspite of trying hard.
Then I remembered, Leonardo Davinci got his best ideas while wandering aimlessly. I hopped into my car and drove aimlessly, all the while trying to get creative.
Three hours and hundred miles later, I still didn’t get any ideas but…
I lost my way.

The lonely blogger

He’s been blogging for a year now. He loved his blog, wrote every post multiple times until it was perfect. Still no visitors, comments or emails. He decided to stop blogging.
Then, one day it happened. Someone left a comment.
He was on top of the world even though the comment was only […]

Reel Real Life

The rats of the mansion called an emergency meeting.
“Sixth infant killed since yesterday”
“How?”
“These youngsters keep teasing the cats, got to find a solution for this”
“Easy. Stop them from watching Tom and Jerry on TV, you don’t get away teasing cats like Jerry does. It happens only on TV”

Courage

I love her. 30 years, I tried to tell her, but never could. In this time a lot happened – growing up, education, career, marriage and her husband’s death. I tried till I got cancer 2 years ago.
Her funeral. I’ll try now, again. After all, there is no better ghost in […]

Growing up …

“Ever noticed kirk’s foul language? All due to John, why the hell do you allow kirk be friends with him?”
“He’s my son too, you moron”
“You never listen, do you, bastard”
The argument continued.
In 10 minutes, kirk’s parents’ argument taught him more foul language than his neighbour john did in a month.

The Internet age

Noone expected naming the baby would take such time and effort. After days of discussions, rejecting hundreds of names and trying to please the entire family, they finally agreed on one.
A day later, they had to begin the process again.
Reason? In their excitement, they forgot to check if the domain name was available.
