The ball came and he turned, evading one and then another and he was away. They chased but it was already a lost cause. His feet danced over the ball and his body swerved to dummy two more of them. The goalkeeper advanced and he dummied him too before sliding it into the empty net.

Three shots

Down two. A few seconds left. The ball is inbounded. Two dribbles, then a wild three. Miss off the backboard. But wait! A foul.
Three free throws.
The first is nothing but net. The second is too hard. The third hangs in the air for eternity before hitting the front of the rim.

Three Seconds on the Clock

At four he dreamed of one day being right here: his toe, the game, the hopes of the team and fans - all on the line.
At twelve, when he grew seven inches over the summer, that dream became a possibility.
