Shattered Dreams
Rarely are so many so quiet. Minutes ago the sound deafened. Thousands upon thousands roared the hope of a nation, willing their men to glory. If only that were possible.
Alas, those thousands upon thousands were not playing. And the weight of their voices was unable to tip the scales of victory in their favor.

You assume I’m writing about the US side? When have we EVER had thousands upon thousands cheering for us outside of Columbus OH?
I swear, This is a strictly fictional situation… though it’s bound to come true when England fall.

If it’s about England then you’ll have to do a follow-up story about the rioting and looting that they get up to after getting dumped out of major tournaments…
