Voices on the Wind

Katie leaned her head on the window. She listened intently as the palm leaves brushed against the glass.
Minutes later she ran downstairs, tears streaming down her face.
“Daddy,” she whispered, climbing in his lap. “That man in black. He said we would hear mommy’s voice in the wind. But I didn’t hear it.”
